Life \\ Currently Loving : Spring / Summer Lip Products

Hello everyone,

I recently embarked on writing a series of posts where I will talk about things I am currently loving.  This post is dedicated to showing you my favourite lip products for the upcoming summer months.

This post contains some bright, bold colours, some shiny and some matte and also some more natural colours.  I feel like all these colours could be used for either a day look or for an evening look.

I may have talked about some of these products before and if I have I will leave a link back to a post or video as well as including swatches.

I am going to start with my "bright" lip product picks as we all love to lighten up our make-up look in the summer months.  I always find a bold lip really effective and I think this is easily done when the weather gets brighter and you're outfit consists of more summery colours.

(1) My first couple of picks are of course the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks which I have very recently written a post on (link here) and I also mentioned them in my May favourites video (link here).  The first shade is called '02 Frambourjois' and it is just a gorgeous bright pinky red.  If the sun is shining and you're going out for the day this is a beautiful colour to wear with a nice summer dress.

(2) The second shade is called '04 Peach Club' and is a lovely bright pinky coral colour and I like wearing this when I'm just wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans just to brighten the outfit up (to see this product in action here is a video where I am wearing this shade).

(3) This is a Lord & Berry lip gloss in the shade 4254 Papillon which I picked up on a whim but has turned out to be one of my favourite lip products.  The shade is a really bright and glossy pinky red which I am just loving at the moment.  I find myself buying a lot of this colour as it works well with my skin tone.  A full review of this product is can be found here.

(4) I have never written a post on the Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 095 Finale but I have worn it in a couple of videos (check out my Body Shop Haul video here to see this in action) but I bought this quite a while ago and it lasts really well and the shade is just gorgeous and bright.  I think if you mixed the Bourjois (1) and (2) together you would end up with this shade.

If bright lips aren't your thing you may be interested in some of my lip product picks which are more muted, neutral colours.

(5) This is quite possibly one of my favourite lip products currently, and it is the L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick by Color Riche in 500 Molto Mauve.  I love the colour and I love how this applies.  I recently wrote a whole review post (link is here) on this as well as wearing it in my May favourites video (to see how this looks in action click here) and mentioning this is my April favourites video (see, I really do like this one!) and it is just a really easy peasy shade to wear, it is quite glossy but this is a nice light muted pink to wear on those summer days.

(6) The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in 335 'Hot Date' has been a firm favourite lip colour of mine for quite some time.  I wore this a lot around Christmas time and through into Spring and I can also see myself getting a lot of use out of this into the summer months which is the sign of a truly good investment.  The formula is spot on and this colour is neither too light for winter or too dark for summer, just the perfect berry shade.  I would go as far as to say this is my most worn lip product ever.  I have dug up from the archives an old post which I wore this colour in here.

(7) I picked this Maybelline Superstay 24hr Lip Colour in 185 'Rose Dust' quite some time ago and again this is another colour that has stood the test of seasons.  This is again another really easy colour to wear but this is not glossy, it is matte effect and you add over a balm which comes within the packaging.

Hopefully if you're looking for some good colours for the summer months this post has given you some inspiration or maybe you had seen one of these products and wanted to read a short summary of it before purchasing then I would say any of these colours and products would be a good investment for the upcoming season.
